The singer Bellakath recently revealed that she and her team were ignored and mistreated by the guest artists' staff at an event. Despite having a performance scheduled midway through the show alongside Puerto Rican reggaeton artists Jowell & Randy, instead of receiving support, Bellakath was met with shouts and mistreatment from the main artists' team.
Bellakath mentioned: “They showed us the schedule and I was going to be midway through the show. Instead of support, I received shouts and mistreatment from the Puerto Rican artists' team. My mom went and asked again where we could connect. According to the plan, I would sing a song midway through the show alongside the Puerto Rican reggaeton artists. And suddenly the manager said: ‘No, now is not the time!’ That’s when I told him: ‘You just made a big mistake because she, besides being my manager, is my mom.’
After the incident, Jowell & Randy apologized to the singer, assuring that they were unaware of what happened backstage. Bellakath also revealed that this was not the first time she withdrew from an event due to disrespect towards her team, as she believes that without them her show would not be the same.
This episode adds to the times when Bellakath and her team have been mistreated by organizers of important events, which has led the singer to make the decision to withdraw on various occasions. Despite facing unfavorable situations, Bellakath has established herself as one of the prominent voices in Mexican reggaeton, sharing the stage with other emerging artists in the genre.
The last straw in this case was when the treatment of her mother, who is also her manager, triggered her decision to withdraw from the concert. Despite the multiple successes she has achieved in her career, the lack of respect towards her team continues to be a recurring issue for Bellakath at important events.
The singer recently broke her silence on a podcast, revealing details about what happened at the Jowell & Randy concert. In the interview, Bellakath explained that the conflict with the main artists' team completely changed the course of her participation in the event.
